The Pedagogy of Success in Second Chance Schools - New Generation

Abstract

This article evaluates Morocco's "Second Chance Schools - New Generation" as a mechanism to recover dropouts and reduce school wastage. It demonstrates how the pedagogy of success and life skills reconstruct the psychological identity of out-of-school youth and qualify them for socio-professional integration. To what extent has this model provided innovative pedagogical answers to overcome academic failure? Furthermore, what professional profiles and animation techniques must educational animators possess to transform the center's environment from a state of vulnerability into a nursery for empowerment and personal project building? The article relies on the descriptive-analytical method to deconstruct the theoretical backgrounds of mastery learning and compare them with field practices. It also adopts a critical-evaluative approach to review educational rehabilitation curricula and staff training. The educational animator is the cornerstone in activating the pedagogy of success. These centers have a temporary therapeutic nature; the true horizon lies in eradicating school dropout from its roots and transferring positive animation into the formal school system to guarantee social mobility.
